Hi! Welcome to my amazing website! As you can probably tell from the title of this page, this site is all about taekwondo: what it is, why people do it, the belt progression, and its similarities to and differences from other martial arts. Throughout almost nine years of training, taekwondo has helped me gain in confidence, make friends, and have plenty of exercise. It has been a big part of my life ever since I started at six years old. I can definitely say that taekwondo has changed my life for the better. I hope you enjoy learning about it! |

I first heard about taekwondo when I went to a birthday party for someone in my class in kindergarten. It was at their taekwondo school and I thought it was so cool. I even got to break a board at the end! For some reason, this made a big impression on me, so I asked my mom if I could do taekwondo. As it turned out, she had taken some taekwondo classes during college and had always kind of wanted to get back into it but never really took action. So, when I came up to her asking if she would sign me up for taekwondo, of course she agreed. She even signed up a little while later too. I was one belt level ahead of her up until black belt. My little brother, Kenton, liked watching my taekwondo classes. Sometimes I would even teach him the moves I learned. When he got a little older, he joined taekwondo classes too! Now all three of us have black belts. Kenton and I are even on the demo team, which is a handpicked group of students that performs at belt tests and championships to showcase high-level taekwondo. I also help teach classes as an instructor. |
